I was kindly invited to a shoot last Sunday with a friend of mine Chris Martin Photography, my only contribution to this shoot was a couple of Quantum battery pack’s to speed recycling times on Chris’s SB900 flashguns. The professional model Eveta was great very animated and moved from pose to pose with little instruction needed, similar to an actress professional model’s can slip in and out of character with ease, as they constantly work in various genre’s they adapt very quickly to the style of a shoot. Eveta was a true professional which for a photographer makes life easy and the focus then is on getting the best possible pictures. Successful models have discipline and dedication in abundance, especially when it means spending 3-4 hours on an outdoor shoot in February.
I did manage a little discipline myself and this is it, the basis make Every Image Count, I took 11 pictures in total
I read and get asked the question many times about how many pictures you get from your wedding, with the age of digital clients seem to assume that More = Better, so when I get an email from a Bride saying that from the thousand images she has now got only 3 or 4 are print worthy. It is a little disconcerting to discover that she asked someone else to emulate my pictures to which they reply No problem and at half the price. Given the current economic climate sacrifices are been made when it comes to what to have and not AT a wedding.
Little consideration is given to what you’ll have After the wedding. You can buy a new phone, car, house, iPad etc you cannot do this with a wedding. No one can instil the importance of your wedding pictures, you either value wedding photography or you don’t. Whether you do or not is absolutely fine, bear in mind whatever it is you value will it outlive your wedding day ?
P.S. a word to the wise these images are from a model shoot not a real wedding, if anyone shows you a select few portfolio shoots ask to see the rest of the wedding, game over 🙂
